KIMONO :
collaboration between two students, one describing one of the japanese prints from the museum in text, the other student starting from this text to produce a print. From the description, I kept the sentence with the ‘grey and red kimono’ to inspire a series of 5 woodprints, mostly monotypes.

SUBLIME :
this work has been produced following an idea that the japanese prints had something of a ‘sublime’ character (according to the description of ‘sublime’ by Edmund Burke). The dramatic, frightening but at the same time beautiful sphere was the source for 4 lithographs, in 2 versions : black and white, and colour, using the japanese prints palette.
